Jean was born in New York, but moved to Maryland as a child. She began drawing at a young age and continued throughout school. She married right out of school and soon began a family. Raising two boys with busy sports schedules left little time for her art.
The family rode horses, showed them and fox hunted, thus her love for horse and hound. She and her family moved to Southern Pines because of the Horse Country presence here and because she wanted to get back to art.
Frost took a workshop with Robert Way and was impressed with his use of glazes and started studying with him at this Pinehurst studio in 2006. She favors painting portraits of animals and people in oil. She also paints hunt scenes of Potomac and Goshen Hunt in Marlyand.
